I have a 2009 C70.
When I pull the hood release the hood lifts only slightly, it no longer raises high enough to insert fingers to lift it. Where is the spring that is supposed to initially raise it to allow inserting fingers to unlatch it?
Is the part shown in tne photos related to "popping" the hood? there is one on either side-front of the engine compartment, one points forward, the other points to the rear. I pulled this one up to photo it.
I recently had some front end work done (control arms and tie rod ends); I am concerned that some things might have not been put back together correctly.
Thanks.
That part releases the headlamp - to get the headlamp out for bulbs replacemen. Control arms and tie rod replacement would not have anything to do with the hood latch. In fact the hood would not need to be opened to replace those front end parts.
The circled rubber pad has threads on it - and is used to adjust the closed hood height. you could try raising those up to slightly to help push the hood up when you release the latch.
