How do you release the hood after a crash? My 2001s60 hood is bent and there are two metal hooks that are firmly gripping it. How do u open the hood?see pics

Do u see the metal grip in right side of pic? How do I unlock it?

I know its a silly question, but did you try using the hood release latch?

 

Yes, I did try the release. After reading through the other replies -- you need two people. One to pull the level and the other to push down on the hood simultaneously. Haven't tried that yet... but with the bent hood it might take more force ... unsure.
