Default just purchased mint 2002 C70

Very excited, found a beautiful C70 HT coupe and talked my way into my price range. Amazing how these cars hold such minimal value barely more than a comparable S70.

Curious regarding models and options. It appears to have a different grill than most gen 1 C70s looking more like a late mode S60 grill than a 98 S/V 70 grill. Is there any significance to this? It has the 17 inch wheels...

Amazing, I have had Volvos for almost 15 years and until July, I had never seen or heard of a C70. When looking for an S70 to replace my S40 I stumbled across the C70s and just had to have one. Kissed some real frogs till I found the one I got.

Cheers, knowing Volvos, you will all get to know me, I spent a lot of time on the S40 and V70 forums...

Best,

Mark

Picked up a C70 T5 convertible yesterday and feel the same.
It even runs well on LPG....

The only problem is the common windows switches being so sticky and dirty....
Need to find a fix for that

take a look at the grill from a 2004 C70 - they have the rugged boxy grill of the newer Volvo styling. Not sure if you 2002 has the old or new style. C70 coupes are rare - probably 95% sold are convertibles but there are a few hard tops out there. The rarest is the coupe with a manual transmission. That'd be my choice for a hot Volvo build platform... you can bolt in the cross frame from a convertible to add chassis stiffness, get a limited slip differential for the manual transmission and the HPT is just a few after market bits away from 300+ HP. Oh and the 18 inch wheels are pretty easy to find (my choice is the Pegasus style). Nice choice, hope you enjoy the ride. PS since you have the automatic, my upgrade choices would be HD sway bars first, nice wheels second and if you don't have the Volvo premium sound system, shop for one on eBay...
