i've done HID replacement/upgrades for stock low-beams in other cars (may get around to doing that for my 09 c70 since the stock low beams are terrible ). that just required tapping into existing wiring and was literally plug and play. i imagine these led kits would tap into existing day-time-running lights and run a connector to the battery
I ended up buying a LED kit intended (Kurkayn for Honda Goldwing from a local

The reason was the side shining/mounted LED strips offered at Autozone and Pep Boys were not long enough. I drilled a small hole on the side of the housing to pass the LED wires inside. I hooked up to front parking lights (in the high beam section) which are always on. Let me know if anybody wants a photo of it.
While I took out the head light asssembly I ended up upgrading OEM low beam bulbs with Sylvania Silverstar ZXE (H11). They are on sale at Autozone for $49.

I did a similar mod except that my leds are only 1/16th on an inch wide and I mounted them under the headlight so when they are off they are virtually invisible (I did not want a aftermarket looking strip mounted to the front of my headlights). Here is a pic of the headlight with the light off
and here is with the light on
. To me, it's just a cleaner, more factory look. The park light bulbs have been replaced with a 6000k color canubus (error free) T10 led bulb to match m hid 6000k color fog lights. Your led strip red wire gets wired onto a orange/green wire from your headlight harness and the led strip black wire gets wired to the black wire from the headlight wiring harness. I also used these super thin led strips in red to create "eyebrows" for my rear taillights. I plan doing a post showing all my mods in the near future. Among them is a panoramic roof mod that is really turning heads, painted to match brake calipers with Volvo lettering, color matched "turbo" badging and a grill mod using a oversized Volvo emblem from a truck after spraying my grill gloss black. More on those mods later. Hope this helps.

Both installations are nicely done for the final look desired by the owner.I am going with the larger lights for my 98 C70, coupe, 2.3 HPT, 44k miles.
Upgrading high/low beams also. Thanks for both posts!
The installation of LED headlights is more convenient, as long as it is the model you have chosen. Disassemble the car cover, corresponding to the positive and negative poles on it. If you use other LED lights to install more trouble, you can choose novsight, I use their installation is very convenient, the brightness is very bright.
