So I've had a 2011 C70 for almost a year now. Little did I know that every time I locked my car (or thought I did) it didn't lock. The mirrors close in, the turn signals on the mirrors flash and the red light on the dash flashes ever couple of seconds leading me to believe it's on. However, the doors aren't locked. I've even tried locking them using the lock button inside the car, but that doesn't work either. It sounds like they're locking but they don't lock. Plus when I open the door (and the alarm light is still flashing) no alarm goes off. The only way I can get it to go off is pushing the panic button on the key fob. I'm so confused!! Am I doing something wrong???

 

You sure the car isn't keyless? Do you have a rubber button on the outside door handle or an actual key hole?

 

It is keyless. It has the button on the door handle. It doesn't lock when I push it either though. It ACTS like it's locking (mirrors close, turn signals on mirrors flash, clicks like it's locking, red light on dash starts flashing) but it doesn't lock. It opens right up. OMG. I just thought of something. Is it open because the key is nearby?? Am I having a true blonde moment or is something else up.

 

Yes, it is opening because you have the key. That's the point of a keyless car.
