Default mass airflow sensor

Hey guys. It has been a while. I need some advice. My car wont start up. The engine cranks but it does not sustain. The computer indicates a mass flow sensor problem. Any advice?

thanks,

If the mass flow is bad and will not allow the car to start and you unplug it the car should start.

It is connected to the air box filter housing, on the drivers side. Electrical plug is right on top of the meter. Looks like this:

be advised that your fuel mileage will be affected and I am sure you will start 'throwing' additional codes. replace the MAF ASAP. CRC makes a product that 'cleans' the MAF although I doubt it would bring life back to your present MAF. It is a good product to prophylactically clean your MAF annually.

If it was the throttle body there would be codes stored for the ETM.

A vacuum leak will throw a MAF code as well.

Yeah I agree. You should be replacing the mass air flow sensor immediately. I had a similar problem before and I did not replace it for about 3 months then there was some knocking, pinging, stalling and shuddering of the car.. really bad..
