This message is set by the dealer and they are always relunctant to tell you how to remove this 'time for maintenance' indicator on message center unless you come in for service. There is a sequence the Dealer goes through to turn this off, does anyone know what this is? You can remove message by pressing the 'READ' button but it does not eliminate it as it comes back on when you re-start your car.

 

I am new to the Volvo C70 and this forum. I just purchased a 2006 with 10,000 miles in great shape but the service message is on.
What can I do to remove it?

Drive for 2 minutes, go to the dealer, buy the reset tool ~$180

 

That is crazy they do that too you and then charge $180 so you never see it again. That is like buying a computer with pop up advertisements there every time you use it.
