Default Mts and the dealer

i called the dealer to let them know that my MTS light is constantly on now and i wanted to find out how long it would take to replace the MTS. they told me the replacement is free, providing that the TB is solely the problem and nothing else is making the TB throw the light. any extra repairs would cost me. i do have a check engine light for catlyist ineffeciency (which must be the sensor cause i have a new cat)

is there anything that could make the MTS lightother than the TB being bad?

all software updates are current.

There shouldn't be any issues. Just let the dealer know you just put a new aftermarket cat.
Take it do the dealer tell them your ETS light is on, and you have noticed the vehicle has been surging. The replacement time could be 3-4 days. The dealer must check for codes and perform a ETM test. Then they have to contact Volvo to receive an authorization to replace the ETM.

thanks for the reply Guy. i called the service writer and he explained that to me, but he told me it will take like a day to get the authorization to replace the unit and he would get me a rental til it was finished.

i'm very nervous about putting it in the shop cause i can afford for them to give me a big bill. i really hope nothing else can be making this MTS light come on cause he did say they would have to check all codes and test the unit, so that makes me wonder what else could make the MTS wig out?

Clogged vent system will trigger the light as well.
They might say you need to fix that first. They are real picky about just replacing them anymore.

how expensive is that to have them fix? the wierd thing is the light didn't come on til i got the 155 update. so either the thing got clogged after the update or the TB is trash

I think through them close to $400.00 or so. Or one day drop it off by me at work and pay us it will be alot cheaper.

or even better maybe pay you to do it at the convience of your home can you do this job at your crib? and figure out what you'll charge me.

and on a seperate note, i wanna plastic weld that cracked part of my dash closest to the windshield, but i don't remember how much we took off to get to it last time. does the whole dash need to come out for that?

We can work it out for the vent system. Yes I can do it at home.

Yes the dash needs to come out but remember I can have it out in about 20 minutes.

yeah, when your a volvo master everything is like 20 mins to my surprise ;D

as for the dash i would like to first get a small light duty grinder so after i plastic weld that piece for the last time i can smooth it out and get it ready for paint. i wish i could get a new alarm LED light to put in there while it's out.

can we do the fuel filter too? i don't know if it takes special tools for that.

i'll see when it's good for both of us to do this Tech, thanks
