Just bot a 2001 C70 HT Convert as my second car. I'm in Florida and have had a convertible most of the time. This is what we call a Condo Car. Snow birds (SuperTourists from the north) come down here for 3-4-5 months in the winter time,. The more affluent ones will buya new car and leave it here in the garage when they go home. When they come back down, they often have it serviced and enjoy reliable transport while they are here. So the cars are well serviced and low miles.
This car is a 2001 with 35,200 miles. Paint and leather is pristine aa is the top. Tires might be a couple of years old but are very good. 7/32.

I am old. Retired from the Computer biz. Big ones, not PCs. and have lived in Ft Myers for 15 years.

This car will be my Grocery Getter and In State travel car. My first trip will be about 130 miles to a Thunderbird Meet n Greet near Orlando. I am still a "friend" of that group tho I no longer have one of their cars. Many of them are moderate car guys and will enjoy checking out the Volvo.

I also take a couple of long trips each year to Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. I will use my Chrysler 300c for that.

I am a veteran of the USAF and a Veteran of car forums.
So I will spend some days reading all the posts back to the beginning of the forum. Just inhaling all of the knowledge of this car. I have owned 48 or 49 cars, but this is my first Volvo. Right now it is in the shop getting a Road Force balance and the Radio needs a code.
My first "project" will be getting my iPod playing through the system....or replacing the system. It is a very high Priority with me.

Welcome to the forum! 66 yr young guy here. Have 98 C70 Coupe Sport 2.3 turbo, 53K miles. Use 2 be main frame operator/maintainer/programmer for F-18 INS systems, as well as other type/model/series aircraft. Repair PCs now as a hobby. Do a lot of lawn equipment also 4 neighbors, generators, power washers etc. Charge 4 parts, no labor. Good luck with the new toy. Have a 56 Crown Vic with Thunderbird engine, all original, numbers matching.

78 Years old here. Had a new 57 Convert back in the day. Tbird motor, 3 on the tree w/elec overdrive. Lowered it, dechromed it. But I let it go.

Took the C70 out for breakfast this morning, about 20 miles away...that will probably be the pattern for awhile. More cowl shake than I would have expected from a Volvo. Any fix for that? BMW much more solid. But great touring none the less. And def captures the eyeballs. Now off to the auto tunes store tomorrow. Threw a couple of CDs in....surprisingly good sound. But, in these days and times, so primitive! LOL!
