New to Volvo and this forum
Hello everyone,
Went for my 3rd straight convertible with a 2008 Volvo C70 to replace my Toyota Solara. It has 65k and a pretty significant odor of cigarettes but I'm hoping that will fade once it is warm enough to open the windows on a regular basis. I got it from a private owner for $10k. I'm hoping the reputation of Volvo longevity is accurate and I have this car for many miles.
While I tend to frown upon people joining a forum solely because they have a problem they need solved, I have already experienced a problem...
Last night and this morning the car got stuck in Neutral. With about 10 minutes of jiggling I have been able to get it into the appropriate gear. The boot (the hard plastic at the base of the shifter) was broken and floating around so I removed it when I bought the car last week. No problems until now. I'm wondering if a loose piece plastic is lodged somewhere in there. I guess we'll see.
