I recently have had intermittent issues with my overdrive, occasionally it will not work at all, or drop in and out.

The trans fluid has been flushed twice in the past and most recently about a year ago.

I've got around 185k on it, all highway miles.

No codes.

I don't think it the torque converter but perhaps the solenoid, I recall reading in the S70 area once the valve body solenoids could be accessed with the transmission still in the car, is this the case, and does anyone have any other thoughts or areas I might check first?

Update: Looking at the diagram " http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/sh...ssembly=239047 " I at least know I can access the solenoids.

Guess I'll order the overdrive and see how it does.
