Hoping you can provide some guidance.



I own a 2011 C70. Check engine light came on so I popped in my Carista and got these codes.



P0507 - idle air system rpm higher than expected.



P2187 - system to lean at idle bank 1



I am getting the “squeaky fan belt” sound which goes away when I pull the oil dipstick.



Thoughts?

 

That's the common PCV failure. The squeal is un-metered air sucking past oil seals, like the noise when you slowly let air out of a balloon. Pulling the dipstick allows air in another way. Codes are created from the un-metered air making things lean. The pcv valve is part of the oil filter housing - I have heard the pcv portion might be available on the aftermarket - avoiding replacement of the entire oil filter housing - but I've never done it that way. #31338685
