P80 C70 roof cables broke

P80 C70 roof cables broke
I have an '03 C70 that I bought recently, I found the motor for the windshield latches removed and the cable shafts that go into the motor seem to have broken off. Is there a way to replace the cables without lowering the roof?(since I can't)
