Default Parking break light not coming on so top will not operate

I have a 2004 c70.. when I apply the emergency/parking break to put the top down the indicator light does not come on for the break.. I have to be very slow in raising the lever to just the right spot .. than it will light.. than I can activate top. I am afraid to put the top down until I fix the issue any ideas? Thks

on most cars, the parking brake light is activated by the postion of the handle, not by the actuation of the e-brakes themselves. Sounds like you may need a simple adjustment of either the cables going into the handle or the position sensor switch itself. Its also posible the switch itself may need replacing.
