Phone call at 3 AM, Son blew up my C70
Greetings all;
Friday the 13th, all was well in my house, I thought that the bad '13th' had come and gone, and there would be no problems. I couldn't have been further from the truth - 3 AM, phone rings, son says that my C70 HPT 2.3 Convertible with 47k KM, is 'dead'.
I jump in my car and head to his location, and see a frightful thing
a) Engine temperature was still above the 'H' mark
b) 0 coolant in the system
c) obviously there is no crank, the motor seems (probably is) seized
So now we have this problem to solve, and I am wondering if you might be interested in sharing some advice which could probably help any future souls in need of a motor.
* I do not want to rebuild this engine even if it was possible
* Used engine is OK
* Need to know part numbers etc so that I am looking for the right motor
I believe that themodel is B5234T, for the High pressure turbo 2.3L engine, please correct me if I'm wrong. Further, if anyone has any sources for motors within Europe, it would be most appreciated if they could post this information.
Best regards, and thanks,
Vasili
