rear sway bar creaking
I have an awful creaking noise from the right rear, especially noticeable when I quickly jut to the right, which lifts the right rear suspension. The weird thing is, I can not make it creak when I park it and lift the right rear of the car by hand. I can however, duplicate the creak when I slowly jack the right rear up by the frame. Strange. I feel and listen closely while a helper jacks it and as far as I can tell, it is coming from the right bushing that the sway bar runs through. So, I removed the sway bar (anti-sway bar for you guys that are going to correct me), and I removed the bushings and clamps. Then I cleaned the bar and the inside of the rubbers. Then I greased it with waterproof grease. The creak seemed to settle down for a few months but now it is back with a vengeance. It sounds awful. Like something is going to break. Is there anything anyone can suggest? A special grease? A new anti-sway bar kit from IPD? Could it be coming from somewhere else? (sure doesn't seem like it though) Help.
I removed the entire bar, knocked off the clamps and rubbers, and greased everything again. We shall see what happens but I have a feeling it is going to be creaking in 6 months again.
