Hello. I have an sc-901 system in my c70 which is great but the CD player does not work. When trying to use it just goes in and out when the 3 disk changer is pressed into the slot. Anyone have any idea for repair shop in California? I'm in the Long Beach area.

 

Had same problem with mine. 98 C70 Coupe. I purchased a replacement SC-901 from e-bay. While waiting for delivery I stopped by the local Volvo dealer to inquire about repair. Dealer informed me they did not repair these units. Received e-bay unit, removed original unit, installed replacement worked perfect. Just to test, removed replacement unit, re-installed original unit, it worked fine! Appears like removing & replacing it reset something. Works perfect today, 1 year later. Just my experience! These units are hard to find with the 3 CD changer. Now I have a spare!

 

I have a spare stereo as well. If you find one grab it.

 

As long as you have the radio code!! try this, as I had a similar problem on the SC-901;

turn the radio on; pull out the fuse which will shut the radio down; there are 3 fuses I think, just pull one at a time until it shuts down; turn the radio off; replace the fuse; turn the radio on; radio code will be requested; enter the code; try inserting the cd cartridge.

This has basically reset the radio, as I said it worked when my cartridge failed to load.

I fixed a friends V70 that did the same thing, his issue was it had two cd's stuck inside the unit, may or may not be your issue but just in case take a small flashlight and look in the unit.
I pulled them out with hemostats.
