Default Seat Micro Switch C70

1998 C70 Coupe. Had dealer replace broken switch retainer in 2010 on passenger seat. When lifting seat back lever to enter rear seat, the seat would not move & the control panel on the seat did not function @ all. Dealer charge $1,000.16. Retainer dealer cost $29.00. Volvoparts on line cost $16.00. Same problem happened last week. This time I took the seat out. Litlte spring that connects to the microswitch was hanging down from the metal pivot lever viewable from the rear right hand side of the passenger seat. The spring has a hook on this end that slips thru the pivot lever, the other end of the spring is suppose to be connected to a tab on the microswitch mounting plastic retainer, the dealer replaced. That end of the spring is round. Today I am going to install the new switch retainer & attach the spring. I think some JB weld will be used to keep the spring attached to the plastic retainer & reinforce the thin plastic tab it hooks over. Anyone else attempted this repair? Any suggestions appreciated! Old dog likes new tricks!

I wrapped 18 gauge wire around the micro switch 10 years ago on both seats, the seat controls will work Or you can try the dealer again(?)
