Default Service Required

My 2011 C70 gave me a Service Required message yesterday but then today when I started the car it was gone. Could the message have been in error or should I still get the codes checked? The onboard menu shows that there are DTC codes still in the system. Thanks.

It comes on as a function of miles traveled. A shop usually sets it after an oil change or a scheduled maintenance.

Here's how you reset it:

1. Turn the ignition key to position I.
2. Press and hold the odometer trip 1 reset button and wait for the odometer to set to zero.
3. With the trip reset button still pressed, turn the ignition key to position II.
4. Keep the trip reset button pressed until the yellow light starts to blink. Once this happens, release the trip reset button immediately.

As another has said the "service " message appears after x miles or x time. (some cars can be set for different miles and time intervals) The message will stay on for x time every time you start the car until it is reset.
