SIPS air bags and buckles not connected
This is for my son's 2003 C70. We have had the car for about 7 years and the SRS light has always been on. The person that I bought the car from mentioned it came on after the battery was drained and went dead. Since my son is now out of state I decided to pill the codes to see what the issue might be. The SRS codes that came back (085, 087) indicated a missing signal for left and right SIPS airbags and (090, 093) missing of faulty signal for left and right seat belt buckle.
If the code was just for one side I would assume a bad wire or connection but having the exact codes for both seats for the SIPS only (no front air bags codes) makes me wonder if something is wrong with the module ? I tried to research to see if the SIPS had a separate fuse but it seems that there is only one fuse for the entire SRS system.
I have yet to try to remove the connected under the seat to check for corrosion (after disconnecting the battery of course) but the fact that the signal for both buckles and bags are not being read seems to indicate something else. I would assume that there are two connectors, one for the buckle and one for the side bag, unless they merge somewhere I cannot see.
There doesn't seem to be any indication that the seats have been removed but I cannot be 100% sure. The wear on the belts, seats and buckle seem to be in line for a car of this age. Anyone have any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.
