Default SRS Airbag service urgent

So yesterday I got my amp, and sub installed, tow hitch put on, cabin air filter replaced, cleaned under seats took back seats out and cleaned under all there and now I have this light on my vehicle. 2007 Volvo S60 2.5T AWD, nothing else is wrong with the car. I keep it up-to-date as much as possible. I am in the United States if that helps. I really don't want to bring this thing to a dealer ship. The code popping up is U2003

Most commonly something related to the SRS system gets unplugged with the key on while working on the car. That will cause a code to be set that has to be manually erased. Have you tried to read then clear the srs codes?

what scanner did you use? I googled the U2003 and found this https://www.engine-codes.com/u2003.html

which suggests its a comms error for the CD changer, not the SRS... hmmm.

Usually the SRS codes tell you which device is not reporting correctly (ie the side impact bags in the seats etc) which would have been my first hunch considering you may have bumped a connector under the seat...

I know it an SRS air bag issue because it pops up and says that on my dash. with the yellow triangle
My buddy used his scanner, he owns a shop. It says Configuration Faulty ; faulty configuration

We cleared it because the Time for regular maintenance went away.

Wild guess... You didn't disconnect the negative ground on the battery before removing the seats? Then when the seats were removed, the car was turned on?

The Maintenance reminder light has nothing to do with the SRS warning lamp. The service reminder light comes on after x time or x miles.

If he SRS light is off either you erased the codes or it passed its self test upon startup.

That means there is a code stored in the SRS control unit. First step is to scan the control units, note any codes and erase them. Hopefully if there is a SRS code simply because something was disconnected with the key on, now that it's no longer disconnected - the code will stay gone and the warning will stay off.

And yes VIDA can erase codes, but there are plenty of aftermarket scan tools that can read and erase multiple module codes on a Volvo also.

ok ----- Was there no attempt to erase the code after it was read? That's the next step.

Yes if everything passes the self test at key on, the light goes off. But once a code is stored it won't go away until it's (fixed and) erased.

Nope, as Hoonk says, you just need a scanner to read and erase the airbag DTC.

I've used Autel scanners for years. They work great. They're not the VIDA, but great tools.

I have DICE and a bootleg Vida. Too much of a learning curve with Vida so I usually use VDash.
