Default SiriusXM trouble with 2013 C70

Hi anyone,
I've had my C70 for 6 years now (US based vehicle with 39,600 miles on it) and never before signed up for the SiriusXM radio. This year I broke down and signed up.

The problem is any station plays for about 8 minutes then the radio drops the signal? The only way to get it back to detecting a signal and playing is shut the radio off and restart it - in essence a reboot. Any ideas?

The only other thing I've had done to the car is about 5 years ago I was going through battery discharge issues on a regular basis - we'd go on vacation and leave the battery connected and come back 2 weeks later to a dead battery.

Apparently the "fix" was to disable the RDAR (?) software or something like that that as I remember (could be wrong) had to do with the radio satellite SW continually looking for a signal even when the car was off so it ran the battery down.

Now, while I don't have battery issues anymore I do have the SiriusXM signal dropping issue.

Any help or suggestions (be kind) would be appreciated. Hate to pay for sat radio and not be able to use it to it's fullest.

Cheers,
TACanada

Sadly sat radio problem is a known issue on these cars - so much so there was a service bulletin put out on it. The service bulletin stated to replace the antenna as the fix. If your RDAR unit has been disabled, you will not get sat radio since that's it's main computer. My car has the same issue and what I do is Bluetooth stream Sirius through my cell phone.and stereo. I would recommend getting your RDAR unit connected and try replacing the antenna (you can get a genuine Volvo part for about $120 through Amazon). - or do what I do. Hopefully you still have Bluetooth capability in your car. I have a hard time believing that a defective RDAR unit would drain your battery especially since your radio powers down once you turn off your car. Good luck LC
