Default Thoughts on 07 C70

hi guys, new to the forum. I'm in the market for a 07 C70. I saw one that I'm very interested in (not a whole lot of C70's out there). It's an 07 with 38k miles. Price is $21,999. It's got the premium package and the Dynaudio package.

Now, I know nothing about cars and not handy at all. What are some of the issues I should be looking for when inspecting this car? Should I be worry about a car that's 4 yrs old? Any info you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Default 2007 c70

I bought my C70 new and got every option except the upgraded stereo. I regret I did not get this upgrade, mainly because I have the top down all the time and the extra wattage would have been nice. When I purchase vehicle I got the 3yr/100k warranty. I now have about 97k on it. My warranty ran out last Summer. In hindsight I should have gotten longer extending warranty but I never owned a car more than 3 years so didn't figure to own this long. I do like my convertible and I also like to smoke cigars with top down. The body still looks great as I take care of my calls and unless I start throwing in huge $$ into maintenance I plan to see how many miles I can get on this car. My motivation for getting this warranty (andx I am not one sold that this makes economic sence) is the top has alot of cables hydraulic cylinders and odds are things will go wrong. I would not buy any C70 hard top older than 2007 as you will have issues with top. Early (4k miles) on I had hydraulic cylinder that latches conv. top to winshield went bad (leak), then shortly after the master cylinder was replaced. At 70k I had a hdraulic cylinder replace (leaked onto cloth interior top) and I hear a noise when top is going into trunk so I'm sure there is a hydraulic cylinder that will need to replaced. The cylinder replacement at 70k was $700 so this can be costly. Another issue I have dealt with is the ivory seats. I have had the back seat replaced while during warranty due to discoloration (sun?) and last summer I had front seats cleaned and refinished (dyed) due to similar discoloration. It seems like mfr did some strange treatments to leather per all the leather experts that looked at vehicle. Fortunately I had purchase a interior/exterior warranty that covered costs. All this being said, I do enjoy driving my convertible..

thanks for the info. I'm going to buy the extended warranty for sure. Anyone know how much that goes for?

I've already spoken to the sales manager and we tentatively agreed on the numbers. Only problem is I want to go a good amount for the deposit and my tax refund doesnt come in until 2/25. I'm hoping the car doesnt sell till then. Can wait to get this car. I'm gonna get so much ***. jk..i'm married.

guys, I bought the 07 Blk/tan 38k miles C70 over the weekend. I fell in love with it the moment I saw her. It drove great, the Dynaudio package is amazing. Cant wait for the summer, drop the top down, listen to Phil Collins and just cruise.

Love her.

So I finally got my car back from the shop. I had 37k miles on so I took the car in to get everything fixed since the factory warranty is over at 40k. The car is like new now. Love it.

a few questions - when do i need to change the break pads? I got the service record from the previous owner but no pads were replaced.

- when i use the ipod through the aux, i could control the volume through my steering wheel but I cant control the song selection.

Thanks
