Alternator tested out at 12.9 amps. Any thoughts?
Should I be concerned that my alternator reads at a 12.9 amps, or is it a coincidence i needed to replace 2 batteries in 1 month.(one on warranty) and, is it easy to change the alternator(any pics?)
thanks
thanks
Are you Talking about 12.9 Volts on a meter?
It should be more like 13.5
Test in the power cable before the Battery cable and see what it shows there.

I am not sure how they did it. I took it to Advance Auto. They put in a new battery, and did their alternator check, with me revving at 2000 rpms. It came back at 12.7 and 12.9. They said it should be at 13 or above. Is this something i should be concerned about? Anything else that i should look for?
