Tire sealant kit question

Tire sealant kit question
I have a 2011 C70 on order and will pick it up mid May. I notice that the STD options now include a Tire Sealant Kit vice a tempa spare in the event of a flat tire. The company that makes the TPMS sensors recommend that no iquids or sealants are used, and if used, to replace the TPMS sensor after thoroughly cleaning out the tire and the rim.

I see that a lot of companies now offer these Tire Sealant Kits in place of spares to save money. Seems like another way for the consumer to be stuck with an excessive repair bill for a simple punctured tire! Each sensor on our cars is $93 and then labor to clean and patch the tire. You folks have any thoughts on what I am seeing as a Catch 22 here? Use the $10 can of sealant versus a temp spare and then you will be hit with a $100 plus bill for what should have been a very low cost repair.
