Default Transmission Slipping

Hey folks. My C70 transmission has started to slip (it seems after it warms up). Symptoms are:
[ul][*]I start the engine and drive normally, after a few miles (say 4 or so), it's like the transmission is in neutral - engine turns but no movement forward.[*]If I keep the RPMs below about 2k, I can drive longer (I have gone up to 10 miles like this but did not drive long enough to see if it still slipped - I may have been able to go on indefinitely).[/ul]Note: I checked the fluid level and it is ok.

Help please!! Would a tranmission flush fix this? Am I going to have to sell my soul to pay for a transmission rebuild?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome.

What year is the car? has the fluid ever been changed?
Try a trans fluch and try using Lucas Oil's "No Slip". Some guys on here used that and have no more "slip".

It is a 2000 and to my knowledge, it has not been changed (bought the car used). Car has about 70k miles.

Thanks for the tip and fast response!

I would do a good flush and try that Lucas Oil's "No Slip" stuff.
I haven't tried it, butsome guys here said it works really good.

Good Luck

If you do need a transmission, I am quite certain that it is an Asin/Warner. Rather than having yours rebuilt which most often is a mistake, I would recommend that you purchase a Volvo rebuilt unit with a 'factory' waranty.
ie: stay away from the shop that 'rebuilds' all makes............all models.
