Default trouble removing vvt from cam

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I'm doing a head gasket on a 2000 c70 2.4. I was told I have to remove the VVT off the exhaust cam. I made a steel cam locking tool and was able to remove the torx 55 plug but, I cannot get the torx 55 bolt behind it to budge. I wouldn't think it is reversed thread but I figured I'd ask because I'm bending the cam tool. There is quite a bit of force being applied to it and it's not moving. Any suggestions? Thanks

It is torqued pretty good. You need to put more pressure.
Did you mark the pulley good to the cam cover before trying to remove it?
If not do it now. It is a major pain in the A** to get setup if not marked before removing it.

Thanks, I finally got that bolt off. I had to heat treat my homemade tool to make it stronger.
