I purchased my Volvo when it was a little over a year old with only 9600 miles on it. When I bought it certified pre-owned I also bought the VIP Exclusionary Warranty to the tune of $2,900.

I just had my Volvo mechanic do the 45,000 mile services. He noted many things that need to be fixed:
Right front axle boot torn - leaks grease
Coolant level low reservoir cracked and seeping
R/F upper engine mount sunken/bad
Both lower control arm bushings cracked/broken

Besides the things on this list, the engine starting making a loud chirping noise on Wednesday evening, although no idiot lights appeared on the dash.

Since I have that expensive warranty I brought it to the dealer on Thursday. The service tech at Galpin Volvo in Van Nuys called me yesterday (Friday) afternoon and left me a voicemail to tell me that an inspector will be coming to the dealership to determine what will and will not be covered.

Does anyone have any experience with this process? I'm imagining the worst and having to spend thousands to repair my car.
