I have recently purchased a 2007 auto, 2.5 petrol C70 with 115k on the clock. It sounds sweet and runs like a dream, however a couple of days ago whist it was changing between 2nd and 3rd going uphill it sort of misfired/ jerked and the amber engine symbol lit up. The next day a red triangle appeared with a warning of urgent service. I don't want to take it for an expensive diagnostics check, is there a way to avoid a huge expense?

 

Buy a scan tool, correctly interpret the results and fix it yourself.
