Default Center Wheel Cap Removal

Recently purchased an XC60 Recharge. What is the trick to removing the center plastic cover on these wheels. I have pried on it but don't want to break it. My guess is that you have keep pulling on it?
TIA....

Likely can only do it with the wheels off. Most center caps “clip” into the rim so if you pry them out the clips will break.

did you figure this out? I’m trying to swap out wheels and don’t know how to get to lugs. Don’t want to break plastic. Thx!

Similar to what I said above, you can't without removing the tire. These are clips that get pushed down from the front and clip into the rim. Pulling on them won't release it. Maybe you could use a small screw driver or something to try and pry them out, but you risk cracking the "mechanism" that holds them in. Example below.

When you remove the tire, then yes, you can push them out from behind.

look at the photo of the wheel. You can’t remove the wheel without removing the lug nut plastic cover (in black). As you can see, no lug nuts are exposed. That’s what we are trying to figure out. Thx.

Ah, I misread as "center caps" usually means the center cap. The hub should be able to just be pulled off. If you have one of those hard plastic pry tools should be able to use that to pry the hub off.

If you need access to the wheel lugs, did you check to see if Volvo provided a special tool to pop off the covers?
