Default V60 PHEV dead - alarm issue

Hi all
i am posting this at 3am U.K. time because my alarm decided to go off in the middle of the night. After a few rounds of on/off it eventually went quiet.

my key fob would not stop the alarm or open the doors. I only have one key as it’s a company car and so the spare is in the office

After the alarm stopped, I worked out how to open the door with the mechanical key. When I get the door open the electrics are dead. No interior light and the dash stays blank. Putting the key in the slot in the dash makes no difference.

I have not tried a new key fob battery yet.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

And the solution was - disconnect and reconnect the engine battery. Tried my obd2 reader on it but it didn’t find anything

that turned out to be a temporary work around.

this afternoon I went to open the car and the alarm went off instead of opening the doors. So repeated the work around of disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and all was well after that.

then this evening, I went to the supermarket. Did a couple of locks and unlocks on the way with out issue. Did my shopping and when I got back to the car there was no response at all when I used the remote to unlock the car. So same procedure again

unlock car with mechanical key
pop bonnet
disconnect battery
reconnect battery
the use key to open and start car.

anyone got any ideas as to what the fault is?
