Wrong thread

 

I have a 2022 XC60 B5 Inscription and while the car has been nice, the infotainment system has been an absolute nightmare. I don't know how a $60,000+ car can have software this poorly designed but it's a shame because the car deserves much better. I don't know how long I'll keep it but I know two things: I won't have it past 2 years and I'd recommend anyone who owns one to make sure it is ALWAYS under some sort of warranty where the electronics are specifically included. As a side note, during one particular circumstance, Volvo support was absolutely useless.

 

I too have a b5 xc60, inscription.

1. Infotainment system, well, just plain sucks. Freezes up, locks you out and decides when it wants to work. All updates “Ha” have been installed and still an intermittent piece of garbage.

2. I live in the mountains of Colorado at 12,000’ and even with a hint of snow on the roads this car is the worst car I have ever owned, “allegedly it is designed for snow and ice”. DON’t BELIEVE IT. in true winter conditions this car is a total POS. Unsafe in every snow/ice conditions. Of Note I am a seasoned Driver in the mountains with over 40 years experience on snow and ice.

3. I have had this car since June 2022, and as of this writing I have decided to dump this piece of garbage and take my losses which will be around 15k to $20k.

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A VOLVO EVER AGAIN!!!

 

I can't speak to how it drives in the snow as we haven't had any. Overall, after 15 months, I've had no issues with mine other than:

1 - Some curious design choices - like the sun visor that has gaps - but nothing really bad
2 - The Infotainment Center. PIECE O ****. I would NOT consider buying another Volvo specifically because of the design, software, and reliability of this crap. I can't count how many times it has simply stopped working, stopped the A/C from working, and has needed a FULL Factory Reset.
For $60+ there's just no excuse.

And seriously, a VERTICAL screen? No. Just simply no.

this car is a total POS.

I have had this car since June 2022 and I can assure you of two things.

1. I will not have this car past May or June 2023 (11-12 months of ownership). This will cost me $15k to $20k but owning this POS and risking getting stranded in the Rocky Mountains is a small price to pay for my safety and that of my family. I have hired an attorney and may file a lemon law claim law claim against Volvo. Must be filed by June 30.

And

2. I will NEVER own, drive or step foot into a Volvo dealership, even if they are giving their ****ty cars away for free!

I have owned many cars and trucks, in excess of 100 vehicles and trucks for personal and corporate fleets for my company and this Volvo is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned. Add really ****ty service from Volvo and the service department and they should be banned from this country.

I have owned and driven Volvo's since 1978. They are solid, reliable, comfortable and long lasting. My first was a 240. I currently drive a 2018 XC60. My wife a 2020 XC40. I gave my 2007 XC90 V8 to my daughter with 90K on the clock. From what I read on this thread the main complaint is with the new Google based Infotainment system which replaced the Sensus system in 2021. While it takes a little getting used to, the Sensus system works well and I've not had any problems. I live in Nevada east of Lake Tahoe and my 2018 handles snow with aplomb. You can spend a lot more money buying a vehicle and you can't buy a much better car. Personally Could do without all the new electronic bells and whistles and touch screens. I learned to drive back in 1964. Cars were simple and easy to repair back then. Today with all the added doodads they are difficult and complicated to work on.
