"Barking Dog" A/C temperture control issue
I own a 2006 S40 about 3500miles. I began hearing a noise coming from the dash that sounded like a barking dog. I took the car back to the dealership to have it looked at. The techs stated they knew exactly what it was as all the models make this noise. They say it is a "characteristic" of the temperture control motor of the A/C and fan
system.
They claim that the SUV (XC90) model makes is much louder than the smaller models. They state that they could replace the motor but guarentee the sound will come back. I like how they say characteristic, I call it more of a defect. Is anyone else experienceing this "barking dog"? Is there anyway to get it fixed? I love my Volvo but that sound does get annoying...

I'm experiencing a similar intermittent fluctuating mechanical sound from my dashboard of my S40 T5.
The dealer tells me new software to decrease this "excessive damper motor fluctuation noise" will be out in a couple of weeks. Anyone else with any thoughts? Thanks.
