Hey guys-
We've got an 04.5 S40 here. The rear left window won't go down. It is up completely and tries to go up more when I push the button up, but won't make any attempt to go down at all. Any ideas on what it could be? I think it is a control unit attached to the motor. Is that integrated with the motor or replacable? I haven't been able to find it on parts sites...

Ok I think I fixed the problem. I took the door panel off and removed the motor and control assembly. I took the computer module off the motor and discovered a wheel on the motor shaft which appeared to be a pickup wheel which was held near a sensor on the module.
Anyway, I slipped the wheel back and forth and tried it out each time until it worked!

Hello there. I have the exact same problem now. It happened after I reconnected the battery (was doing motor mounts)... I was thinking I had to take the car to the dealer for some "reinitialization" or something. Good to hear you had luck with yours. Does it still work ok? Thanks a lot for the heads up!
