Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster.

My wife has a 06 S40 T5 AWD. Just recently ism having an issue where under hard acceleration, there's a distinct dropoff in power. Say out of first gear from a stop, it'll run right up to ~3k rpm and then just struggle. Also at speed if you lean into the throttle it'll feel like its searching for a gear while winding out the revs.

During the 1st gear instance (It'll happen in any gear i might add) it almost seems like a fuel cut or perhaps something going on with the wastegate. I'll hear when it hits that 3k(ish) rpm wall I'll hear the wastegate open and dump.

Anyone have any ideas? I've got to get it over to the stealership and see what they say.

 

Have it at the dealer, just an FYI for anyone in the future with a similar problem, it was apparently the turbo solenoid. Total replacement with labor/parts was about $275.
