Hello. I am new to this site and I am in desperate need of some help. I'm 99% sure my wastegate is either going out or needs to be adjusted. The turbo spools up just fine, should be running about 15psi with stage 1 tune, but I'm getting sporadic boost levels and I can feel boost being lost. Could be a boost leak, but I think it's the wastegate. My huge problem is Volvo says I have to buy an entire new turbo assembly for $1400+. They say the wastegate isn't serviceable. That sounds crazy to me. I've seen actuators for sale separately so I don't know why 2 different places have told me it's not serviceable. Any help on this will be GREATLY appreciated.

 

Have you checked your TCV?

The wastegate looks like it should be replaceable but I don't see an OEM part available. There are wastegates available for aftermarket performance turbos (Elevate).

 

Yeah I have replaced the tcv, fuel rail pressure sensor, and mass airflow sensor. All have fixed the problem each a little, but there is still pressure being lost. Possibly wastegate actuator, or actual wastegate?

 

The wastegate is not available on its own from Volvo. The whole thing comes as one unit. You can certainly try an aftermarket one.
