Default Wastegate

Hello all,i have been trying to vent the external wastegate to atmosphere, rather than back into the inlet,as rather sadly,i would like to hear that wastegate working
but i have trouble with the car idleing/stalling,when the lower pipe of the wastegate is taken off.................any help would be appreciated, also, what about giving the boost a safe little tweak, any ideas???

thanks.

oh by the way its an f plate 760 turbo intercooler

If you want to hear noise buy a blowout Valve. That would be your best bet to be able to hear noise and won't cause and running problems. You can remove the wastegate valve and Adjust the rod then install it will give you a little more boost. You need to turn a little then reinstall and try then adjust again. You have to do it slowly so you don't go right into overboost.Usually 1 turn is the best to take it to.

You should have to remove the clip and take the rod off the waste gate to turn the end cap peice that attaches to the waste gate. You cannot turn the rod itself or you will risk ripping the diaphram for the wastegate valve. If you get a blowout valve it will sound a little louder depending on which one you buy.A buddy of mine had a huge one he put on his 740 and it scared people when it kicked in it was so loud.

Think we are getting our wires crossed, when i say its external, its seperate,as in not attached to the turbo,it sits just behind the intercooler/radiator,by the waterpump..............

He didn't tell me HP #'s but with the nitrous he ran 13.50 in the 1/4 mile.He wasn't really happy with it then.He is in the process of building a carbrated Chevy 350 making pretty big HP to drop into it.
