I changed the oil on my 07 S40 T5 for the first time. The manual calls for 6.1 qts, but i had to add 7 qts to reach the full mark on the dipstick. The old oil that I drained was also about 7 qts. I've done oil changes before, so know the procedure. Am I overfilling or is the manual wrong?

 

Solved. My error reading the dipstick due to transparency and slipperiness of castrol syntec oil. A little driving to darken the color and I got an accurate reading. 6.1 qts.
