4 quarts low
This weekend I checked my 19yr old daughter's 1998 S70. She had been driving it low on oil. It took 4 quarts to top it off!! After almost blowing my own gasket, I calmed down and ran a high mileage engine flush and then changed the oil and filter. It seems to be driving OK and I don't notice any smoke from the tailpipe.
What advice can I get to avoid blowing the engine now. Should I include an oil addative to provide extra protection? Car has 151,000 miles and has been running great. Are there any other procedures I should do to the engine to try to protect the engine from further damage? I was hoping to keep this car for at least another 50,000 -100,000 miles.

My Volvo S70 GLT does the same thing. When it did it last summer they replaced the rubber seal on the oil cap and it was fine. My turbo also tends to burn oil. I would recommend keeping some extra oil on hand checking the oil every couple of weeks, thats what i do.
