Default 1998 S40 2.0 air condition...

Hi! My volvo is 2.0. I don't know is it injection. His power is 103kw about 138ph. I have a few questions about this car.
1. How does air condition works. I don't know what is airmix and how it works. How can I turn off air condition? When it is on windshield ac button is always on. When I turn it to legs for example it turnes off. When it is on windshield the button for circulating air in cabin is off, again, when it is moved it turnes on.
2. How to find out is my model injection?
3. How to find out which is this model. It is petrol, 2.0, 16v, 103kw, it has ac, abs, el. mirrors, el. windows, cd with cassete, 6 speakers, el. driving seat, srs airbag for driver...
4. How to find out does it have airbag for codriver and rear passengers?
5. Is it normal to get only one key for this volvo? Can it be copied? Is it a code key?
...

The major question is about this air condition. Can someone explain me how to use this, or tell me where to download user manual for this car? It must be on English or Croatian language because I'm from Serbia and I only understand those two lang. I have user manual on Italian but I cant understand it.
Thanks

p.s. sorry on my poor english

The A/C turns on when the defroster is turned on because cold air clears the windshield faster than hot air. That is their thinking.Yes your car is fuel injected.I believe Volvo has been using fuel injection since 1969.Yes you can get another key im not sure if they key is computer chipped or not.We didn't get these cars in the U.S. till 2000.If the key feels rubbery it has the chip in it.For the air bad quiestion look on the dash on pass side and look for the letters SRS on the dash.If so you have pass air bags.I dont thing it has rear air bags.Hope this helps some.

I have a few more question:
1. What oil to use for engine? (in my country temperatures are about -12'C in winter to 38'C in summer)?
2. When i start engine some icon is turned on under rpm meter. It is fourth icon from left to right (on italian manual wrote "Avaria luci esterne"). It is in group with lights and when I hit brakes it turnes off. My lights are all working as it is suposed to work, no damaged bulbs. Only rear left light is on when i hit rear fog lights? Is it normal to work only one (left)? Front fog lights are working both.
3. I found some small connector over the central mirror. What is it for? My friend told me that is for anti-radar. Is this for it? Does it have only power from batteries? I was thinking that is connector for electric intern antena, but my antena is on the rear of the car.

Rubbery is kind of like the feeling of your tires on your car.If you have no chip the part that goes on your key ring will be hard plastic.Im not sure what to tell you about the oil.The light you might be refering to might be the bulb failure light. All the bulbs might work but if you have 2 diffrent company bulbs in there it might do that. Those cars only have 1 fog light that is normal. That plug you found might be for an auto dimming mirror. But im not sure.Hope this is a little clearer

Those are pictures of some part that I don't know what is for...
Other picture is dashboard with ac...

Can you explain on which way this aut on ac works? Does it use sensors or what?
This is picture of my ac. How to findout is it ecc?
Last night I drove about 10km from town to house and my windshield was not clear even when I came home and I traveled 10km. It was still 50% foggy. Vent was on 5 and AC on 28 degrees. It was pointing on winshield... Is this happening to any of you? I have some thinking: this is a swedish car, it should not have problems like that? For example: my friend's skoda octavia 1.9 tdi with ac do this a lot faster...

The first picture the clip your holding might go to the arm rest attached to the drivers seat.Is the arm rest working properly?Second If your car has aut it is an ECC system. It uses sensors to determan temp and turn blower motor on or off depending on temp. And for clearing windsheild depending on how cold it is you might want to try more heat and it might clear faster.

The light you see is brake light check. It goes out the first time the pedal is pressed. This is how the system is intended to work and does not indicate a fault unless the light remains on.

Most european Volvos only have one fog light bulb fitted on the left side and the light unit on the right has a blanking cover which prevents a bulb from being fitted on that side as well.

Ok. I get it. Can you tell me something more about other questions, spec. about this foggy windshield. Tech said to use more heat and I used ac on 28 degrees, can't go higher...
Thanks.

If the air-con is working properly then the most likely other cause is the winscreen needs cleaning. It might look clean but a common problem with the amount of plastic in modern cars is that the plastic gives off fumes when heated and these deposit themselves on the interior of the windows.

As for oil I'd use a good quailty SAE 10W/40.

I think it work properly... On 5 is so noisy and it's "winding" on windshield. I brought car 10 days ago and I wonna to change oil but I don't know which to use. On drivers door is some sticker that has some informations about oil and it said "semisintetic, sintetic and prosintetic (I think)" on 93.700km (semisintetic is checked). My car is now about 105.000km. We in Serbia only have sintetic and mineralic oils. Can I put there sintetic oil aldough there was semisintetic? It is droven 12.000km without oil change, i think I must change it now? Do you think same? Sorry on all of this questions, but we don't have official dealer and service here. It's all based on "do it by yourself" method.

This is the place for radio-antena that is stolen from me. Any sugestions how to fix this and which are compatible with this hole? I tried form golf 3 but it's to thin for this hole. It don't need to be an electric antena it can be fixed.
I found a little light over the drivers legs, under the steering wheel that was disconected; now I connect it and it works. Is there any more hidden lights or something that might be disconected and it's useuful

Try to find a universial antenna at your local Auto parts store. You might need to buy a oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter housing if you have a cartrige filter.Yes you can install synthetic oil even though they had semisynthetic in there before.I would change the oil to be safe.
