I can't find any performance camshaft for my 1999 s40 i contacted ipd and they told me it was a rather unusual car from volvo and did not have any parta for it. I looking for just a small upgrade and can't seem to find any store that sells performance camshaft in these cars. Maybe somone here knows where to look?

 

It seems like the market is drying up for the Nedcar Volvos. There used to be quite a selection of performance upgrades available but they are hard to find now.

 

if you have the turbo model, then upgrading a cam shaft would not be my first choice of performance upgrades. Better choices (in order) are 1) getting a software change to the ECU 2) upgrading the turbo from a 12T to a 14T 3) installing a larger, free flow down pipe. If you have an NA model, best choice is a) invest in the suspension and wheels or b) buy a turbo model :-)

 

He has the European model turbo car. I believe he already has the 14T turbo.

 

my understanding is Volvo sold both HPT and LPT models in Europe and treated North America to only the LPT. Steini, what is the engine code on your model - (look for B4194T or B4204T on one of the model plates). The 4204 has the 12T turbo (118kw/160HP) and the 4194 has the 14T (147kW/200HP).
