I currently have a C30 R-Design and it's not going to cut it with twins on the way I'm considering getting a 2011 S40, but was wondering if anyone has tried having 2 RF child safety seats in. Is there enough room? Any particular brand you would recommend?

No clue on the safety seats. Brought mine home in a 240 way back when but only one at a time. I don't see any structural issue with why not though. Just a guess.

 

Congrats on the twins.I do have two car-seat in the back I can seat a skinny grown-up in there with them still.Mine is a 01 tho but I imagine the two car isnt that different in sizes.

 

Are your child safety seats rear facing? That seems to be the issue I've heard from others is that the baby seat at a reclining position for newborns won't fit unless the car seat is pulled way up. I'm 5'11", so I'll probably want some leg room.

We don't have the car seats yet, so can't try it out at a dealership.

 

No but I had them too.My kids are 6 and 9 now and Im 6'1".Im sure you will be OK.In any case you could put one of them to the middle this way someone could sit into the back with them with ease to take care of them on the way.

 

I did go and test drive an older 2009 S40 yesterday and brought a child safety seat with me. It was a little tight, but doable. I guess it probably depends on the brand of seats you buy. I've seen pretty big ones and also fairly compact ones.

Anyone else have to out 2 seats in? What brand did you go with?
