Default 2000 radio/cd/cassette removal

Some of the lights on my radio/cd/cassette have burnt out, and I want to replace them. How do I remove the unit? I notice there are two key-slot type things that slide out, yet have not pulled on them, as I do not know what will happen.

Has anyone dealt with this issue previously?
Thanks,
Bob in Oregon

If yours is the SC-XXX series then yes, just pop the little handles out and slide the unit forward. Then unhook from the wiring harness. Make sure you have the anti-theft code before you unplug it.

Thank you. I haven't looked for the anti-theft code, but I'll check my owner's manual tomorrow to see if it is there.

Usually on a credit card sized card in the manual.

That card is no longer there. I guess I'll contact the local Volvo dealer to see about a new code, or other options.

If you give them the VIN for your car they can look up the anti theft code.
