i just started hearing a constant droning on my 2000 volvo s40 while on the highway and now its gotten progressively louder even at low speeds... i also noticed that while driving if i turn the steering slightly to the right the noise stops and once it straightens out again the noise starts back again *hmmm* is this the bearing?

any advice would be great :-)

 

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me.

 

usally the rear on that car. its very easy to change
