Sorry but haven't seen that nor know what that would do to help.

A cone filter will give more turbo noise and you could hear the bypass valve when you let off the gas BUT then you will suck air and it will not be efficient.

Only thing like this I've ever heard of would be an intake resonator, and those are only found on Japanese cars. Once removed they give a deeper throttle and idle sound.

Well idk what ppl r talkin about this foam thing it doesn not exsist on the new 05 + or 2nd gen... What i did notice was that there is a piece of plastic right behind the grille on the left side .... If u remove it u will get some more sound and it sounds great but my worry is that it will allow more dirt into the filter and clog it up but sound wise it is great... Ill make a write up and post with video ..

Foam does not exist on the newer generations.

The foam is under the air filter element and on the lid (I think) removing this will make a whoosh sound when you let off the throttle, although tech is right a cone filter will do more. Plus it looks freakin' sweet under the hood! I will look when I get home tonight at my old airbox and see where the foam is.

There are also numerous topics about this on s40concepts.net (check it out older S40 guys)

Go WOT and then release your foot from the accel. pedal. You will hear a whoosh sound. Sort of a pshhhhh. Sounds sweet.

You can get even better sound with a cone filter: I suggest a heat shield with it. Someone on here made a heat shield out of cardboard! LOL!! Does nothing!
