2000 s40 rear alignment issues
Hello all I have a 2000 s40 1.9 T engine code b4204T2 auto trans with 169 k on the ticker. Things I have already done(complements of the forum) coil packs x2-coil pack wiring x2-OE volvo spark plugs-spark plug wires-OE fuel pressure regulator-unstuck the shifter button--But now unfortunately my girlfriend hammered a curb and has knocked the driver rear alignment out of whack. I tried to have it aligned at Firestone but after ****** #1 2 3 and 4 could not get it aligned charged me for it anyway. Ok fine. But they really could not give me a reason why they could not except for "I can't get it to adjust I think it's stripped" They could not tell me what needs to be replaced or anything. I cannot seem to find any parts or info about this. I tried to upload some pics from IPhone but will not work. Any help is appreciated very much!!

i would think right? they look ok to me. the tire is cupping badly also at low speeds it almost feels wobbly and makes alot of tire noise.wheel bearing is tight. also i am working on the pics now but the bolts ave what looks like offset circles on the bolt and a plate on the arm. looks like the adjustments and they said that they are stripped.cant find anywhere to buy them.thanks for response
As soon as I read that I went outside with my flashlight jacked it up and it looks like its snapped in a ring around the bolt. Awesome. Can I just grab a few of those bolts from a junkyard and swap them out ?thanks much for the help
The bolt isn't the problem. The eccentric portion of the bolt rides against that ring. When you turn the bolt and the eccentric moves, it changes the alignment angle. Because that ring snapped, turning the bolt does nothing for the angle. The ring needs to be moved back into place and welded.
Edit- I misread. The bolt is broken but the ring is in tact? Then yes, you can use junkyard ones but it would be worth buying them from the dealer as they are probably seized in the junkyard cars.
