Default 2000 s40 Tire is stuck on hub.

Last week I acquired a 4 lug steal rim with tire off craigslist as my oem volvo alloy rim got damaged in a blow out. Ive been driving on it for a week now and was rotating my wheels as the rear have better tread. Thing is I cant remove the steal rim it just wont come off. I haven't tried a sledge hammer to the tire as i dont have one.

A few good donkey style kicks usually frees them up. If not try lowering the jack very carefully with lugs nuts off to see if weight of car moves it. If not put lug nuts on loose and drive around the block.

The donkey kicks have always worked for me, but I like the idea of loosening the lug nuts then putting some weight on the wheel. The idea of removing the lug nuts not so much...

.. and when you replace them, clean the mating surfaces carefully. Grease on the centering hub wouldn't hurt (but NOT on the lugs!)
