2000 S40 Turbo, Gear Stuck on turbo.
Hey everyone!
I have a 2000 S40 1.9 Turbo. I was driving normally with the gear on D. I was crossing a light when it turned on yellow so I floored it. The car started to accelerate like normal. Once i passed the light i hit the break and it wouldn't gear down. It kept on wanting to accelerate by it self. I've tired to change gears from D to R and to L but it wont gear down. Any suggestions?
any help would be appreciated

Check the throttle cable. Might be in need of some lube. Check the exposed cable for fraying. I've seen them look like a bird's nest which stop the cable from moving correctly.
Also check that your floor mats or anything in the floor is not interfering with the throttle pedal.

thanks for the quick replay and im sure its not the pedal or the throttle cable because once i let go of the pedal the car "slows" down but the motor starts to "pull" to keep on accelerating. This happened to me once before and I fixed it by putting my car on R. This made it go back to the begging gears. Do you think its the transmission?
