Hi all,

Anyone know what is making this sound?


Also, I have notice when I'm acceleration the car start jerking, this only happen when the turbo start, anyone having the same issue? Or any suggestions?

I have a 2003 s40 with only 80k miles

 

Not sure but I have had good luck using a piece of plastic hose as a stethoscope: just hover it around with one end in your ear and bring the hose end very close to different parts in the general area. You will no doubt find the place where the sound is loudest.

 

Just a wild *** guess - the vacuum pump.

 

That's what I thought, any way to repair the vacuum pump? Or I just need to replaced?

 

Is it working and just loud? Or is it broken? Broken you replace it of course, but just loud? Are you good with small electric motors?
