I'm a newer volvo user, and have a question. Sometimes, when I go around sharp bend (not stop and turns) there is a whining noise. I don't know what it is am curious. I would guess something with the turbo??

from experience, thats normally a sign of a wheel bearing. is it a high pitch, a hum, a squeel?

Kind of. I was looking around online at just general whining noises in cars, and I found something about power steering fluid. Could that be the problem?

power steering will sound kind of like a higher pitch hum, that sounds like something is just holding it back from doing what it should... hope that explanation helps...

it makes the kind of creaking whine when i accelerate around a cirlce (if u understand). heres a basic diagram of what the situation is. i start from left side, and go right. (these circles are in a neighborhood and u have to keep right)

the green lines=acceleration
yellow=coasting
red=braking
red arrow=where whine/creaking noise is

check the level of your power steering fluid, and the consistency, if you havent had it flushed yet... i would consider doing that

i actually just got back from buying new fluid. i checked it, and there was barely, if at all, any. i filled it up to the max line, and did a short test run around the block a few times. i tested when it would whine and it didnt. i will continue to monitor the level to see if theres a leak, but it looks like it should be fine. thanks a lot for your help
